A most wonderful piece of history from Germany c1920-1930 and which is, undoubtedly, a very rare and glittering jewel. She belonged to the wife of a Media tycoon in the UK. She had quite a personal collection of glorious jewels, most of them gifted to her by her loving husband during the many years they were together. She passed at the grand old age of 100. It is very reminiscent of the glittering Golden Era of the 20s and 30s.
In my research for this bracelet, I have not been able to find another the same. A similar articulated, slender panel wrap bracelet was sold as a 1930s/40s German bracelet and that was also in solid 14ct yellow gold. The bracelet I am selling is so glittery and so eye-catching as it has been chased (engraved) with a floral design of giardinetti baskets of flowers, which was a motif used a lot in the earlier Jugendstil era.
The bracelet is slinky, glamorous and sleek as it has dozens of individually attached slender, gold panels, fixed at both the top and the bottom. It snakes and moves on the wrist and seems to hug your wrist in such an organic way. I hope the photos do her justice as she really is a 1920s starlet!
She is in pleasing, ready to wear condition. Stamped clearly “14ct” and with the “585” mark followed by the German word “GESCHUTZT” which means it was a protected design. It is a wide, cuff style wrap type of bracelet, which has a heavy, solid tongue to slide into the box clasp. There is also a lever type of safety arm to secure the bracelet further when you wear it. There perhaps was another safety chain as there is a tiny loop. She measures approx 20cm (8 inches) in length and the width is approx 2.3cm. It weigh 27g.
I will send her in a box with either Special Delivery within the UK or else International Tracked and Signed. Thank you.
