A rarity indeed, a matching pair of solid gold bracelets with matching earrings, all with1970s UK hallmarks and maker’s marks from the design studio of R.J. Turner. How contemporary the design feels with its stylised coral motif. It is such a wonderful design and is beautifully made as the bracelets mould to your wrist like a dream. They are sinuous and articulated and you really do not want to stop touching them. To have such a symbolic and naturalistic connection to coral represents the reverence with which we have used coral in jewellery over the last centuries.
Amazing to have a matching pair-slightly different lengths so that you could stack them or else wear one on each wrist. It may even be a wonderful gesture to give one to your friend or other special person in your life. Crafted in solid 9ct gold, the bracelets feels substantial and squat in your hand as you hold them. The slightly longer bracelet at 17.5cm (a touch under 7 inches) weigh weighs 29g and carries full hallmarks for London and the maker’s mark of “RJT”. The slightly shorter bracelet measures approx 16cm (6.25 inches) and weighs approx 22.2g. I adore the snake-like way the bracelets move, due to the tiny gold hinges connecting each formed coral section to the next. They are a golden, shimmery delight.
They both retain their original “invisible” box clasps so you get a continuous line of the design as you wear each. They also retain their original extra security latch, for added safety when worn. The bracelets are approx 1.4cm wide.
The matching coral design earrings retain their original “9ct” stamped screw back mechanisms and weigh approx 4.3g collectively. The earrings measure approx 1.6cm in height by 1.4cm in width.
