A complete show stopper of a ring! It is the most wonderful Austro Hungarian ring I have ever come across before. The central lapis lazuli stone is other-worldly in appearance, as I have never seen a specimen of the stone with this much glitter. The whole cabochon is covered in the gold-appearing pyrite. Absolutely amazing! Even more amazing is the condition of the stone (and the sapphires) with no visible wear-I think this beauty has been housed safely since the 1880s.

As if the huge and captivating cabochon of lapis lazuli was not enough- the ring has a line of old-cut faceted sapphires all around the lapis. They sparkle and catch daylight easily so when you move your hand you literally feel as if you have the sky and the night stars on your finger. Delicately set and adding to the overall quality and fineness of this exciting ring, the sapphires do not show wear either and all are intact. I kept counting them and I think there are 26 in total! All set carefully by hand. Exquisite.

The ring face is set low to the finger, as you can see o the photos , which is so easy to wear. The decorated band and underside are typical for Austro-Hungarian rings of this era. No stamps- again, typical.

This sensational ring measures as approx UK size K (US 5.25). She makes the ultimate statement and she will not be ignored – with a ring face of just a touch over 2.5cm in length. An extremely rare and exquisite piece of jewellery.

I shall send her to you in a sturdy new, hinged ring box to keep her safe.
