Description
A fabulous, genuine late 1920s 18ct white gold Art Deco target ring in possibly one of the most beautiful designs I have seen of its type. There are 21 stones in total, 20 diamonds and the central opal, so if this is to celebrate someone’s 21st birthday or anniversary- well, what an incredible statement! It comes with a valuation certificate of £3,200 from a qualified UK National Association of Jewellers valuer.
The materials and execution of this ring are both top quality. The central opal is so lively, with greens and blues in particular. It is bezel set in yellow gold, which is so much more suitable for the warmth of the opal. That is such an unusual feature but it is completely “right” in the design when you see it work with the colours in the opal. The 20 diamonds are set in a halo design around the opal and they are set in 18ct white gold. The opal measures approx 9mm in diameter and the total weight of the diamonds is approx 0.30 ct.
It looks wonderful on the finger so I hope you can see that from the images, as opals can be quite tricky to capture well on photos. My jeweller has just polished her so she is super sparkly and ready to be boxed for her next adventure in life. She is a good size to be seen and noticed and is so very comfortable to wear. Nice to see an antique 20s ring in a larger size – she measures approx a UK size R (US size 8.5). In pleasing condition with one teeny nibble from one diamond seen under intense close scrutiny and certainly not visible with the naked eye. In quite remarkable condition for her age really.
I will send by international express courier or else by Special Delivery within the UK. Box is for display purposes only but she will be boxed in a new ring box. Thank you!
