Description
An absolute treasure of an antique ring, dating from the 1920s and showing some of the Art Deco design details of the era. It is a statement ring, crafted throughout in platinum, featuring old-cut diamonds and a wonderfully large, stepped synthetic pink-hued ruby. It is a show stopper of a ring and if you love the 1920s era this beauty will sing to you. She is a sumptuous thing!
The large lab-grown ruby is a fabulous bright pink colour and so vibrant. It has been beautifully step-cut so you see all the facets as you move the ring around. The open work structure to the ring is so very attractive and I love the Art Deco fan-like motifs to the cardinal points on the face of the ring. A round-cut diamond is bezel set to both the top and bottom of the ruby-they are bright and throw the light easily. To the cardinal points, there are four further, slightly smaller round-cut diamonds, which are also bright and sparkly. I adore the design of this beautiful ring and it is wonderful, actually, to see a design of larger proportions so that it shows so well on the finger. The face of the ring measures approx 2.5cm in height.
The supporting structure of the face is typically 1920s-low-level and so pretty. The ring sits snugly on your finger and is very comfortable to wear. It measures as approx UK size 0.5 (US 7.5). Stamped as platinum on the inside of the band “PLAT”. In pleasing condition-under the loupe I see a little wear to the main stone but in line with her age and not visible with the naked eye. This is a joyful and fabulous ring so I cannot see anyone being disappointed with her. She is an impressive thing!
I shall send in a new ring box by complimentary Special Delivery within the UK or else by express courier internationally.
