Description
A beautiful and unusual vintage piece of hand-made Arts and Crafts jewellery, consisting of a pendant made with a Nautilus shell I believe, wrapped in its own carefully-worked silver setting. The shape of the shell design is reminiscent of an ammonite, and those three oval slices of shell at the bottom of the design is unusual too.
The shell is super silvery, and bounces light around easily. If you flip over the pendant you can see the patterns from the inside of the shell. Clearly hand-crafted, it retains its original and large silver bale. The pendant makes a large statement at approx 6.4cm in height. I am including the antique sterling silver chain with a T bar, as you see in the images as they make a very lovely pairing. The chain is approx 43.5cm (17.25 inches) in length and there are numerous stamps on it-I believe it is a European piece. There is patina on the chain, which you may wish to polish away.
