A beautiful antique ring, which has been substantially crafted in stamped 14ct yellow gold. It dates from the c1930 era and as you can see, has a lovely antique construction in the gallery underneath the moonstone. Pleasingly it also has a large, impressive moonstone that is highly domed too, giving it lots of interest. You simple cannot help moving your finger backwards and forwards to see the light bounce around in this piece.
The band is sturdy and substantial as you can see, tapering from its widest point at the shoulders on each side. If you have been seeking an impressive, quality high carat gold moonstone ring, then this would fit the bill beautifully. It is a large stone and yet it sits snugly on the finger. It feels solid and the moonstone is also in excellent condition for her age. It is a pale blue to white in tone and it is such a classic piece of jewellery. Stunningly made and elegant and sleek to wear, whilst being larger than most rings of the day.
In excellent condition, the ring measures as approx UK size O (US size 7 to 7.25). Stamped “585” on the inside of the band for 14ct gold and it also has a maker’s mark, which I was unable to decipher. The ring face measures approx 1.7cm by 1.4cm. A heavyish ring weighing 4.9g.
