A wonderful, early Dorrie Nossiter hand-crafted Arts and Crafts bracelet dating from the c1920s era. The domed moonstones are most likely Ceylon moonstones, as they do have a high degree of adularescence (blue shimmer). Dorrie’s scroll / spiral work and ball design is easily recognisable on this hand-crafted jewel and her gem-set clasp is also typical of her work.
On the larger central panel, the bezel-set moonstone has a halo of silver spirals and silver balls. There is a double link to each side and a plain bezel-set moonstone link. Then a smaller panel similar to the central panel, is set to each side, followed by a final moonstone link. To the verso there are two double links leading to the box clasp and tongue independently. Dorrie favoured this type of scroll link among others, as I have come across it in a few of her other pieces in the past. The decorated and moonstone-set clasp is a joy, and as mentioned, is also a favourite touch among the bracelets that Dorrie created.
In superb condition and in all-original state, there is no damage to either silverwork or stones. Some patina, which you could of course polish away if you prefer. The bracelet measures approx 18.5cm ( 7.25 inches) in length. Dorrie Nossiter bracelets are few and far between so it is especially lovely to find an example, and an early example too.
I shall send by complimentary Special Delivery within the UK or else by express courier internationally.
