Description
An unusual and beautiful gold festoon necklace from the c1910 Edwardian era, which features five wonderful pear-shaped peridots of an impressively bright colour. They positively sing in their intensity and the way they have been collet-set means you get that extra light passing through the stones from the open-backed arrangement.
The design is lovely, with festoon chains suspended below the peridot drops, and the central festoon has a double line of gold links which emphasises the central section of the necklace. The stones are not only intense in their colour, but are domed and feel so fabulous to touch.
Such lightness and movement is created in this beautifully considered Edwardian festoon necklace. The length of the main drop section is approx 2.3cm and the wearable length of the necklace is approx 43cm (17 inches). The necklace retains her original barrel clasp fastener and even has the original safety arm on the barrel for added security when wearing the piece. Stamped as “375” (9ct gold) on the fastener, so I am assuming she is European rather than English.
I shall send in a new gift box as the boxes in the images are for display only. Complimentary special delivery within the UK is included, as is International express courier. Thank you.
