Description
What a joy and a scarce thing indeed- an Instone ring after one of his own sketches (the sketch is not included). As you can see from the images it is exceptionally eye catching. I have shown it in some photos with the rest of the parure according to the details on Bernard’s original sketch. This listing is for the ring only and there is another listing for the complete parure of three pieces, if you are interested. I believe that Bernard used foiled rose quartz stones to get that sumptuous blue colour on the main stones. In some lights the reflective quality from the foiling is captivating.
The ring is large and impressive-the only one I have come across in this design. It is one of the finer quality rings created by Bernard. Signed “SILVER B.I”. It has the three stones nestled among large and sweeping hand-tooled leaves. The main foiled rose quartz, is highlighted by an amethyst and a small rock crystal. The oval face of the ring sits on a well crafted gallery and fits the finger well, as it is ergonomically shaped.
The sweeping leaves on each shoulder are wonderful and there is such a sense of movement created by the sweeping leaves over the whole design. It is a substantial ring. It currently has a gold ring sizer fitted (easy to remove) to make it an approx UK size N (US 6.75) although it would obviously be larger if the gold sizer was removed. In museum quality condition, with a little patina as you would expect from a piece crafted approx 100 years ago.
I shall post by special delivery within the UK or else by express courier internationally. Please note the ring box in the images is not included, however I will send in a new gift box to protect the piece. Thank you.
