An impressive statement ring, which looks to me like Scandinavian Modernism mid-century or a little later. Most likely of Danish origin. It is such a lovely thing having a huge cabochon of jade as its focus and such an unusual design with the stone setting being on a stalk. in silver.
The stone is open-backed and in a collar setting. The band is a substantial thickness and it makes a wonderful piece of eye candy to wear. The ring measures approx as a UK size T.5 (Us 9.5 to 9.75) . The jade cacochon measures approx 3cm by 2.2cm. The ring tests as sterling silver and there is a partial maker’s mark which could be “C.D” or else “CCD”. To me it has the feel of a Danish piece.
