Description
A beautiful example of a c1910 Edwardian bangle in high carat gold, being marked with a “14” ct stamp and also testing correctly as 14ct gold. It is such a tasteful, light design, unhindered by thick metal sections and engravings and so on, which you might find more in Victorian pieces. The colourful opals are claw set on the front panel of the bangle. The verso is structured with two gold bands running into one in the centre section. Such a structurally simple and elegant design.
The simplicity of the structure allows the 11 lively opals to take centre stage. Each stone has clearly been selected because of its strong colour play. there are many flashes of cobalt blue, electric turquoise and green. Some stones also have green flashes or else purple. To me, the fascination of opals is their appearance in different lights and sometimes the intense colours are difficult to capture on photos. They are wonderful stones.
If 11 resonates with you-then this is even more appropriate, with its 11 opals. Such a pleasing effect as the opals cover the whole of the front section as you wear the bangle. In all original condition, with all stones present and correct-no damage. She is ready to pop on your wrist or else ready to be gifted to a lucky recipient.
The bangle measures as approx 19.5 cm (approx 7.75 inches) inner circumference, with each opal having a diameter of approx 6mm.
