Description

NOW RESERVED for J – thank you!

A statement 1920s Amy Sandheim Arts and Crafts sautoir chain, long enough to wear simply as a long sautoir or else doubled for a more practical double, shorter look. It has those distinctive Amy Sandheim silver links, which I have found on other pieces by her over the years. The same links were present on a fabulous Amy piece sold by Van Den Bosch Gallery, London. Easy to find the necklace in their archive if you wish to reassure yourself.

There are sections of four of these lovely oval shaped links, decorated with a very distinctive silver flower in their centres. In between these sections of four links are wonderfully rich and substantial carnelian beads, which graduate in size from the smallest around the neck area to the largest at the bottom of the sautoir drop. These carnelians are a rich orange colour…carnelians always seem to “glow” their orange, so beautiful. Many of these stones also have interesting inclusions in them so you could just sit and look at them for ages. They are also in excellent condition for their age with no chips or cracks.

The smallest bead measures approx 1.2cm in width and the largest, approx 2cm wide. All silver work is in excellent order too-no stamps (as you would completely expect) but does test as sterling silver. The total length of the chain is approx 102cm (40 inches).

I will send in a new gift box for safe passage, by Tracked and signed post. Boxes in the images are for display only-thank you.
