Description

This is an exquisite hand-wrought Art Nouveau / Arts and Crafts necklace, crafted in 15ct yellow gold, dating from the c1900-1910 era. I sold a very similar bracelet by Murrle Bennett in 9ct gold in the past, so this may well be by them too. It has had a historic clasp replacement so the original marks were perhaps lost during that process.. The quality and detailing is fabulous, with the beautiful caged pearls and eye-catching nuggets of turquoise.

The contrast of the creamy white of the pearls to the decorative and delicate cage work of the 15ct yellow gold housing them is just such a super combination. I love that there are more of those caged pearls than turquoise nuggets, as it helps elevate the piece a little more. Fine, delicate, buttery yellow gold chains, which appear to be the originals.

The necklace is in pleasing condition, without any flaws and would make an exquisite gift for a lucky recipient. A particularly versatile piece that could be worn with a tee or else embellishing glamorous evening wear – it would be at home in either scenario.

It measures approx 49.5cm (19.5 inches) in length so is a little longer than we sometimes find with the smaller-proportioned antique pieces. Tests as a minimum of 15ct gold.

I shall send in a new necklace presentation box by complimentary special delivery within the UK or else by international express courier. Boxes in the images are for display only. Thank you.
