This is a glorious antique aquamarine and diamond ring, crafted in 18ct gold. From the early decades of the twentieth century, it has a 5ct aquamarine at its heart that has been beautifully cut to catch the light easily. Truly a spectacular ring with a significant weight of diamonds flanking the aquamarine on either side. I have just had the ring professionally polished by my jeweller, who has also valued the ring for insurance purposes at £4,500. He is a member of the UK’s National Association of Jewellers.
This impressive claw-set aquamarine gem has a lovely pale blue colour that you would hope to find with aquamarine. Set with the pair of diamonds to each side there is so much lightness and vivacity to this ring- a true ethereal jewel in every sense. To either side is the largest of the diamonds first, each approx a quarter of a carat, with a smaller diamond next to it, at approx 0.15ct each. That makes a total diamond weight of approx 0.8ct.
I adore the design, with the diamonds seeming to leap skywards like shooting stars from the side of the finger. They actually start to decline the sides of the finger and that also gives it this strikingly wide appearance on the finger. I hope you can see the intricate construction of the ring form the photo taken from the side. It’s a beauty!
A superbly attractive design, which showcases this glamorous, super sparkly, pale blue aquamarine, with those eye-catching diamond accents. A sturdy, solid structure with an 18ct gold band, that is also hugely wearable. It measures as approx UK size M (US 6.25). A little play on the aqua in her setting but it is secure.
This is the sort of ring that you simply can’t help noticing-it is a beautiful statement on the finger, as I am sure you can see from the images. In pleasing condition for her age and ready to wow you. The ring is most likely over 100 years old so she is doing superbly well! Freshly pampered, polished and ready to go to her next forever home.
