Description

A gorgeous, articulated piece of Arts and Crafts jewellery c1900 and which takes the form of a fringe necklace. The 15 three-leaf clover designs, crafted in 9ct gold (a gentle rose gold rather than yellow) are connected and each has its own turquoise drop. I simply cannot believe how the exact shade of duck-egg blue has been used for all of the stones. The tone of colour is beautifully consistent. No brown is evident in the stones at the front-just this wonderful duck-egg colour and that is why I think each was selected for this necklace.

The turquoise stones are graduated in size, from the largest in the centre to the smallest on the outer edges. Each fits snugly into its own hand-crafted gold setting. The articulation from these drops as you move is quite beautiful. The accompanying chain has a toggle fastener. I am not so sure it is original as it seems a little on the long side. There is scope for you to shorten the necklace again, if you desire a neck-hugging choker. A beautiful combination of rose gold and pale blue turquoise that is instantly an eye-catcher, as soon as you pop it on. This type of clover design was popular in the Victorian times and it did overlap into the English Arts and Crafts design, with Kate Eadie, for example,  selecting it in double form, with the clover overlapping.

The length of the longest drop is approx 2cm and the length of the necklace is approx 49.5cm (approx 19.5 inches). In pleasing condition.

I shall send in a new necklace presentation box by complimentary tracked and signed within the UK or else by international express courier. Boxes in the images are for display only. Thank you.
