A wonderful example of a late Victorian / early Edwardian bangle in high carat gold, being marked with the old English mark of “15CT”. I would imagine this is just creeping into the Edwardian era, as it sings with lightness of design. The scrolling gold details, the creamy whiteness of the seed pearls – all excellent quality in this lovely bangle in such pleasing condition.
I always love to see the rich buttery nature of high carat gold set alongside the creamy white of pearl…..just a lovely combination. The settings around the pearls are clean and fresh looking and that adds to the appeal of this beautiful bangle. The design atop the bangle is somewhat reminiscent of a Toi et Moi idea, with two identical features intertwined. Clearly, the bracelet sings the theme of love.
It retains its original gold safety chain too and is a beautiful antique piece ready to adorn a lucky recipient’s wrist.
The inside measurement is a touch under 18cm (approx 7 inches). Stamped “15CT” on a little plaque near the catch. Catch works well with a tight snap to it. Bangle weighs approx 8.1g.
