Lovely Georgian ring with juicy red garnet

Description

A lovely Georgian ring from the 1800s in yellow gold, with the face of the ring being executed in 15ct yellow gold and the decorated band in 9ct gold. The garnet is a lovely juicy red colour and the overall design is very sweet.

This lovely example of the antique flower motif ring is set to the centre with a faceted garnet, held in place by many tiny gold claws. Eight tiny seed pearls surround the garnet as a halo. There are also tiny gold balls positioned between each seed pearl in the design. The band is decorated at the shoulders with flower designs with a groove design to the very back of the band. No markings, as is all too typical with such Georgian pieces, however, the gold face section of the ring tests as approx 15ct gold, with the band testing as approx 9ct.

It is an attractive, eye-catching that looks lovely on the finger, as I hope you can see. It is well rounded in shape on the inside and is so comfortable to wear because of this. The face of the ring measures approx 1.2cm in height by approx 1.5cm. It measures as an approx UK size L (US approx 5.75). It weighs approx 2.5g. In pleasing condition, one of the tiny seed pearls may be a replacement but has been particularly well done. Each pearl is organically a different hue to the next, as nature intended.

I will send in a new ring box as the boxes in the images are for display only. I include special delivery within the UK or else international tracked and signed overseas.
