An impressive and oh so rare piece of Art Deco / Arts and Crafts jewellery c1920s, which features those highly sought after and rather rare things….Dragons Breath stones. Unusual to find such a bracelet, set in sterling silver and showing the marvellous arrangement of colours you get with these magnificent foiled stones. It is an absolute joy of a rarity even if only because it retains those electric blue veins that flash out as you move the bracelet in different lights.
I hope you can see on the images that the colours flash from orange to cobalt blue …mesmerising actually, when you move this bracelet even by millimetres. Please note that the orange glittery appearance is there most of the time but the cobalt blue veins are easily visible as you move it around. They seemed particularly vibrant in the artificial light of the light box. It is a rarity to have the round solid silver, original box clasp. Just stunning. Please do research these early pieces-a bracelet like this with 8 cabochons in such beautiful original condition is a real treat of a rarity!!!
I have not cleaned the silver at all, that is for you to decide upon. In instantly wearable condition- the only work done on this was to repair the tongue clasp at some point in her life. That was done in a non-silver metal but when I suggested to my jeweller I would like it replaced with a silver one-he strongly advised against it, as the current one is very strong and has been superbly executed. It actually uses part of the silver link in its design (see last photo).
The bracelet measures approx 17.25cm (6.75 inches). Some patina remains so would polish further if that is what you would prefer. A lovely thing in ready-to-wear condition and a superb reminder of these lovely hand crafted materials, such as Dragons Breath.
I will package carefully and send with either Special Delivery or else International Tracked and Signed. Thank you! Please note I am not sending to Germany currently.
