A large, statement pendant necklace, which is firmly attributed to the Artificers’ Guild c1905. The festoon arrangement of chains really enhances the look of this statement piece and the period chain also retains its barrel clasp fastener. They have all been secured by my jeweller in London, who had to redo a few rings to make it safe to wear.
A beautiful Tree of Life design with elongated leaves, with those tell tale Artificers’ Guild silver wires as the central veins to the leaves. Typically also, are set tiny silver forget-me-not flowers within the leaves design. Set at the heart of the tree is a lovely carnelian stone. Just enough colour to offset the richly decorated silver work in the pendant. Two tiny berries are to be found at the base of the trunk on the reverse.
The pendant measures approx 5.1cm in height. Quite a long chain, with a wearable length of approx 65cm (25.5 inches). In good condition and ready to wear. Perhaps there have been one or two leaves lost over the years-(as for us in life!), however, this is still a rare and beautiful piece, which makes an incredible statement.
