This is such an unusual piece, which seems to transition both the Arts and Crafts era and the Edwardian era. These drop negligee lavaliers were popular in the Edwardian era but it is so uncommon to find an example which is clearly made with a nod to the Arts and Crafts.
A collet set, faceted and sparkling pale amethyst stone is positioned at the top of the drop. Below, is suspended an elongated rounded rectangular frame in silver, which contains a line of rope work twist silver, in true A&C fashion. Suspended below that is the main part of the pendant with a larger faceted pale amethyst (matching the other beautifully), with a halo of rope work twist silver, which in turn has a solid silver halo.
A lovely, elegant drop with amethysts that are pale and sparkly. Stones and silver have been tested and the necklace is in excellent condition. The drop pendant measures approx 5cm in height and the wearable length of the chain is approx 42.5cm (16.75 inches).
I will send by tracked and signed post in a new gift box as the boxes in the images are for display only. Thank you.
