A c1900 silver Arts and Crafts pendant, in an attractive design, showing a beautiful central blue and red striped agate Looking very much like a Birmingham School piece because of key elements in it structure.
I love the way the form of the pendant has been structured with lengths of silver wire, curled over at both ends. These wires have been laid against each other and interspersed with silver balls, between each length on the outer edge of the design. This is then finished beautifully with one of the pieces bent into a sort of triangular shape and studded with three silver balls.
That small triangular form at the bottom of the pendant is mirrored in the top section, with a larger inverted triangular form, to which the hand crafted bale is attached. The bale itself is beautiful, studded with two tiny silver balls too.
The pendant is approx 4.7cm in height, including the bale. The pendant comes with this fine silver chain, stamped STERLING and which is approx 44cm (just over 17 inches) in length.
Some patina and in lovely condition. Box is for display purposes only, however I will provide a gift box for safe passage.
