Description

A beautiful, finely hand-crafted Arts and Crafts pendant, dating from the c1900 era. It reminds me of some Glasgow School pieces I have come across, with the long, curled ends on the leaves on either side of the design. It is also reminiscent of the rather Art Nouveau whiplash lines of Archibald Knox pieces. A delicate but perfectly formed antique pendant.

In an openwork design, with those c1900s sinuous curves, the pendant has the most wonderful, colourful opal at its centre. It is most likely a Boulder opal. It flashes vivid green and purple very easily. Below the main part of the pendant, is suspended a mother-of-pearl drop in a teardrop shape.

All original, including its beautifully fine silver bale -it measures approx 4cm in height. A punchy design statement in those 4cms! Ready to wear-it does retain some patina so would polish further if you prefer your silver that way. I will post in a new gift box by complimentary tracked and signed post. Thank you -boxes in the images are for display only.
