A large Arts and Crafts pendant c1900, looking very much like a Scottish piece of work. I love that this is a statement pendant, with large proportions, right from the oversized hand crafted bale to the lovely, larger than usual blister pearls drops suspended from the main panel. Just beautiful!
Such an articulated piece because of the structure of the various elements in the design. A large triangular, hand crafted bale, which would take all kinds of chains, the hand crafted links from the bale to the rectangular, hand beaten panel, then the links to the drops too. So much movement as you wear this piece.
It is actually a light piece to wear, as the silver is thin and hammered. The hand crafted settings holding the blister pearls safely are a joy to look at. So much work has gone into the making of this piece of jewellery.
Most like some of the Scottish Arts and Crafts pieces in style, no markings so just an educated guess. The pendant measures approx 6.7cm in height, including the bale and approx 4cm wide.
