NOW RESERVED, thank you ************************

Every time I scrutinise a piece of Dorrie Nossiter jewellery, I am blown away by the sheer beauty of her work. This fabulously opulent Arts and Crafts flower bouquet brooch is exceptional. The use of the gold with this selection of stones, the citrines, the jammy red garnets, the pearls and the peridots all work beautifully together. This incredible brooch was created in the 1920s and showcases what Dorrie Nossiter was so good at.

The nature of the mixed stones is typical, not only in their genre and colour, but also that some are used faceted and then others en cabochon. The effect of the draping of the heavy garnet flowers to the right of the brooch is cleverly done using elongated teardrop gem stones, in just the right jammy red colour.

The flashy, light and bright citrines in varying shades of yellow add depth to the piece and enhance the gold ribbon that is tied so effectively around the stems of the flowers. There are also typical Dorrie coils and gold balls interspersing the design.

Lots of tiny, perfectly placed claws hold every gem tightly and that also gives the usual glamorous Nossiter effect. This brooch exudes love and the statement of love. It even has (unusually) an inverted heart-shaped citrine set at the centre of the ribbon, as if another secret message of love. Wow…just a fabulous creation by such a talented silversmith and designer.

It measures approx 5.4cm by approx 6cm and is (as you can see) studded with jewels. A little light wear as you would expect for its age and a tiny nibble seen under a loupe on the small citrine at the centre of the pearl flower. Minimal. Not visible unless you scrutinise with a loupe.

A rarity and a beauty hard to find. I will post with International Tracked and Signed or else Special Delivery.  Thank you!
