You have to love Dorrie Nossiter’s opulent jewellery. This gorgeous Arts and Crafts flower bouquet brooch from the 1920s is another wonderful example. The use of the gold with this selection of stones, the baby pink rose quartz, the delicious dark pink tourmalines and the pale lemon citrines work so beautifully together. It is a versatile piece, as it is also wearable as a pendant if you simply pass a chain through the pin -I will attach a photo.
I adore the colour palette on this piece-the tourmalines are dark pink and they contrast the paler pinks of the rose quartz stones, some being cabochons and others are faceted. The main bright baby pink rose quartz stone has so much interest and it is mesmerising to move the brooch around simply so that you can stare at the details in the main stone. Faceted, pale lemon citrines complete this very “summery” light palette of gem stones. A beauty!
The silver stems are bunched together at the base and arch out over the entirety of the design. The detail in Dorrie’s work is beautiful-I am constantly impressed. Here we have those typical Dorrie gold balls interspersed throughout the design. That silver gilt ribbon and bow, wraps up this statement brooch into a jewel anybody would be delighted to wear.
It measures approx 6cm by approx 4cm and is (as you can see) studded with jewels. In excellent condition with surprisingly light wear to the stones for her age. The chain in one of the images to demonstrate it as a pendant, is not included in the listing.
I will post with International Tracked and Signed or else Special Delivery. I will provide a new gift box as the box in the images is for display only. Thank you! Ref: cuj
