Description

An attractive gold festoon necklace from the c1910 Edwardian era which features gold of a gentle rose gold hue. There is a subtlety about the rose gold that adds extra warmth to the amethysts and pearls.

The festoon arrangement centres around a large circular faceted amethyst, which is collet-set. Two further collet-set amethyst are found at the top of the festoon panel. The three festoon chains are set with tiny collet-set amethysts creating a web effect. Three drops are suspended from the chains, with the central drop being the longest. A small, lustrous baroque pearl is set part of the way down the chain, with the drops culminating in gold caged baroque pearls.

Such lightness and movement is created in this beautifully considered Edwardian festoon necklace. The length of the main drop section is approx 4.7cm and the wearable length of the necklace is approx 45.5cm (18 inches). Stamped with the old Edwardian mark of “9ct”. There has been a clasp replacement at some point. In pleasing condition.

I shall send in a new gift box as the boxes in the images are for display only. Complimentary special delivery within the UK is included, as is International express courier. Thank you.
