A lovely, quality antique moonstone necklace, in which every stone is different to the last and each, of course, having been set in its own individual spectacle setting. This allows the light to really play with the stones. It is a longer length at 84cm -approx 33 inches and has 27 moonstones. A number of these stones do flash blue strongly, all depending on the type and angle of the light.
A useful longer length to sit over a dress or blouse-so a very useful staple for your wardrobe. I love the varied forms of these beautiful Edwardian moonstones-and yet, care has been taken to nestle each into its own hand-constructed setting. Every stone is beautifully different to the next; some round, some oval, some bluer than others. It could be easy to overlook the number of hours that have gone into its construction.
Graduated, so that the largest of the stones appear at the front centre, with the moonstones becoming smaller as you reach the back of the neck I love how even the smallest stone is highly domed and has amazing adularescence-so that it packs a mighty punch visually, despite being the smallest stone in the necklace.
All in lovely condition, with one or two natural inclusions in one or two stones. No chips or cracks. The silver work is fine too. There is no catch as you simply pop the necklace on over your head. Approx 33 inches in length, 84cm.
