Wonderful antique c1910 Pools of Light rock crystal orb earrings in lovely antique condition. They are nestled perfectly in their original velvet and silk box, such a rarity in itself. I love the fact that these drop earrings are on a silver chain and suspend below the faceted pastes at the ear.
These orbs and their silver structure are completely fascinating. They are undrilled, unlike more modern day versions. This means that the foliate silver collar running right around the orb moves, whilst retaining the rock crystal orb in place. Beautiful! When you lift each earring up out of their cosy box, they lighten in colour and throw the light. They also give that inverted “upside down” image that people look for. They come with their original screw back structures but would convert very easily if you wished to put them on hooks instead. They are in excellent condition with each earring measuring approx 3.7cm in the drop.
To have their own, beautiful, original velvet and silk lined case is a joy-and you can actually see the rounded imprints from where the orbs have been nestled for well over a hundred years. Magical!
No stamps or marks, which is rather typical but they have been tested. I shall, of course, include the box and I will send by International Tracked and Signed or else Royal Mail’s Special Delivery.
