Description
This is a particularly beautiful hand-crafted festoon necklace from the Arts and Crafts era in England. It is rather an exquisite design and is surely a one-off piece. It is a beautifully feminine design with a central heart in silver pierced work, and flower motifs near every stone that is mounted. I love those fabulous drops, each with its set of two chains suspending it. It is simply a gorgeous thing!
The mix of the creamy blister pearls and the pinky/purple amethysts is a triumph. Foiled against the coolness of the silver work, the necklace is as fresh and vibrant now as when it was crafted, over 120 years ago. The delicate crafting of flower motifs around the stones’ settings is such delicate and precise execution. A beautiful necklace all round.
It retains its original toggle fastener. In excellent condition with the main pendant section measuring approx 6cm in height and the wearable length of the necklace measuring approx 48cm (19 inches).
I shall send in a new gift box (not the box in the images) by special delivery within the UK or else by express courier internationally. Thank you.
