Description

What a fabulous piece by the studio of William Hair Haseler for Liberty & Co of London, c1900. It is a true Art Nouveau beauty and the enamel work is stunning. It is vibrant in its colours and in pristine condition. It looks to me like two oak leaves and an acorn in the centre. You certainly do not see brown enamel like this often-the leaves have an ombre shift in the enamel from blue to green. She’s a beauty.

I love the wings shape of this brooch, which does suit the draped nature of the leaves on either side. Another example of a striking and potent design on a Liberty piece. Nobody did it better! The brooch is stamped to the verso with the “WHH” as you would hope to see on Haseler’s pieces and also with the silver mark. The brooch came to me nestled in this lovely antique box with a silk and velvet interior. I am not sure if it is the original but it may well be, as the grooves and marks in the velvet match the piece itself. I am happy to include the box for you too.

The brooch measures approx 3.6cm wide and has clearly been kept in the box as the condition is excellent. The enamel is perfect and so very vibrant in its colours. This piece may well be a Cymric design.

I shall send in a new gift box by Special Delivery within the UK or else by international tracked and signed. Boxes in the images are not included. Thank you.
