A fabulous Liberty & Co Arts and Crafts pendant, designed by Jessie Marion King (The Glasgow Girls) in a rare design I have never come across before. A pleasing and unusual square, open work design and all crafted by hand. It retains its typical Liberty & Co silver bale and there are three sets of jeweller’s marks to the verso. One is the design number “1308 (or possibly 7308), PY/1D and ei/-.

I adore this pendant, as it packs such a bold design punch, with it vari-coloured enamelling to the leaves, which is very much in the peacock colours of bright turquoise and green to the edges. Blister pearls are set in a cruciform shape within the open work and there is a lovely natural baroque pearl drop suspended below the main panel. Silver balls also punctuate the design in the centre. As said, I have never seen this square design before so I am sure it is a rarer piece by King.

It measures approx 4.3cm in height, including the bale. The listing is for the pendant only, as I have used one of my own chains in the images for demonstration purposes only. The bale is large so it would accommodate a variety of different types of chains. Enamel in excellent condition-only think to note is a hairline crack in the top pearl, visible under the loupe. Minor-it is secure.

I shall send in a new gift box, as the boxes in the photos are for display only. Complimentary tracked and signed post is included. Thank you.
