Description

A beautiful and substantial Victorian so-called fringe necklace with graduated faceted amethysts making a very impressive statement. Created in the c1890-1900 era, it is in excellent condition with all amethysts present and correct and that is so pleasing. The stones have all been tested as natural amethysts and I love the lightness and subtleties of the differences in tone, which is only slight but which gives the necklace even more vivacity.

Crafted in silver gilt with lovely short chains connecting the amethyst drops to the main chain. There are 11 graduated amethysts with the largest measuring approx 14mm by 10mm and the smallest being approx 10mm by 9mm. They are fabulously cut and bounce the light around so beautifully.

I love that the original hand-crafted silver gilt toggle is still intact, as it just adds to the overall authenticity of the piece. She’s a beauty! The central drop measures approx 2.5cm from the main chain. The wearable length of the chain is approx 49cm (19 inches) in length so it is a generous length unlike many similar necklaces from that era.

In excellent condition with no chips or damage to the stones. I shall present her in a new necklace presentation box and send by complimentary Special Delivery within the UK or else by complimentary express courier internationally. Boxes in the images are not included-thank you.
