Description
A lovely pair of authentic Austro-Hungarian earrings in silver gilt with juicy red and very sparkly old-cut garnets. They have their original screw backs still intact.
These are lovely, simple and exquisite earrings, which show the wonderful red of Bohemian garnets set against the bright silver gilt of the gold covering the silver. The large faceted central garnet is set with a further 8 smaller, faceted garnets in a circle around it. The stones are all beautifully matched in colour.
There is the usual rope work detailing and silver gilt balls, interspersing the design-just so typical of the Austro-Hungarian designs of the late nineteenth century.
The diameter of each earring is approx 1.6cm. In pleasing condition with a little wear to some of the stones, as you would completely expect for something of her age. In ready-to-wear condition and just lovely things.
