A rare pair of Edith Linnell Arts an Crafts earrings from the c1930, fabulously hand-crafted by Linnell. I have never seen this design before and they really are light, ethereal things with a gorgeous array of stones typical of Linnell’s work. I adore the circles you see in her earring silver structures, which are evident to the verso too.
There is a definite left and right earring so that they mirror each other when worn. A hand-tooled draped leaf runs up the outer edge, furthest from your face. Four gem stones of various sizes are set in claw settings; cabochons of moonstone, chalcedony, chrysoprase and a small pink tourmaline. The earrings are just a joy and are fine in quality and just generally, beautifully-made. Each measures a touch under 2cm so they are very well-proportioned. They retain their original clip backs (sort of a lever shape). However, it would be an easy fix to have them converted to posts, as they have a little silver studded area that would accommodate the new posts.
Beautiful little things and actually quite a rarity from Linnell. In pleasing condition. I will send by Special Delivery within the UK or else by International Tracked and Signed. Thank you. Box in the images is not included but I will post in a new gift box for you.
