Description

A wonderfully rare find and in super condition too, clearly marked with Theodor Fahrner’s maker’s mark “TF” in a circle. I have seen this marcasite covered peacock design in other similar brooches, but this is the only one I have come across where there is such an intricate base and that sweeping arc of apple green chrysoprase stones. It is a rarity.

Fahrner created some peacock pieces in the c1926 era and some of the designs can be seen on p130 of the book “Theodor Fahrner Jewelry between Avantgardeand Tradition” by Schmundt Weber Becker. I have not seen this particular design noted in literature so I am particularly pleased it is a signed piece. The green chrysoprase stones simply elevate the design further and are reminiscent of the green found in peacock feathers. It makes quite a statement at approx 6.6cm in length and I love the shimmer you get from the dozens and dozens of marcasites used in the design. A beautiful early Art Deco peacock beauty in a scarce design.

All marcasites and chrysoprase stones are present and correct. A little patina remains so you may wish to polish further. For me the patina looks lovely against the stones.

It will be sent by International express courier or else Special Delivery within the UK. Please note the box is for display purposes only and the brooch will be securely boxed in another box for safe passage.
