Description

This is a beauty of a necklace, crafted throughout in stamped 15ct gold, dating from the c1900-1910 era. I have seen a very similar bracelet by Murrle Bennett in 9ct gold, so this may well be by them too. The quality and detailing is fabulous, with the caged corals and baroque pearls, set in three pairs with a central coral drop. It retains it original safety chain and also it’s barrel clasp, stamped “15CT”, further rooting it in the early years of the twentieth century.

I love that the central coral drop has an extra coral bead, to elongate the drop further. Another wonderful feature is that the two pearls at the front of the design have extra detailing to their gold cage work. They have flattened balls of gold along each wire wrapping itself around the pearl. Again, this is something I have seen on the work of Murrle Bennett and other designers of that era.

The necklace is in outstanding condition, all-original and without any flaws. It is fairly petite in  length so please check the size carefully. It will wear as a choker style necklace unless you wish to ask your jeweller to fit an extender to the chain. The central drop measures approx  2 cm in height and the chain measures a tiny touch over 35cm (13.75 inches). It is a fabulous piece of high quality antique jewellery and deserves to be worn. 7 drops which may be significant to someone.

I shall send in a new necklace presentation box by complimentary tracked and signed within the UK or else by international express courier. Boxes in the images are for display only. Thank you.
