Description

A wonderful sort of Cuban link has been used in this very glamorous vintage Italian bracelet from the prestigious firm of Uno A Erre of Arrezzo in Italy. Fully signed as you would hope. I believe she dates from the 1950s era. It is a lovely thing, wide enough to make quite a statement and so sinuous in her movements with those links. It sits fabulously on the arm, as she is flat to the verso.

The links resemble a double Cuban link and there is fluidity in the way the links move close together and then a little further apart from each other. Beautiful Italian craftspersonship and with the old Italian stamps. It also has UK hallmarks so it looks like she made the journey from Italy to the UK at some point in her life. If you are looking for an eye-catching, slinky, smooth and generous bracelet, then this will suit your requirements exactly. It has the lovely original box and tongue fastener, with the tongue being stamped “BREV.” as is typical for Uno A Erre. The firm was founded in the 1920s in Arrezzo, Italy and was given the stamp “1 AR” which indicates it was the first jewellery house to be given assay marks in Arrezzo.

Quite a generous length at approx  20cm (a tiny touch under 8 inches) and approx 1cm wide, it also retains its two side arm safety catches for extra security when wearing this beautiful bracelet. Weight is approx 10.4g. In good condition, a historic repair which you can see near the tongue to the verso, however, luckily the jeweller has used gold to solder the repair so it is really not noticeable unless you inspect the verso carefully. Too many repairs to precious gold pieces were done clumsily with lead solder and that is far too noticeable.

I shall send her safely stored in her own new bracelet box, by Special Delivery within the UK or else by Express courier internationally. Boxes in the images are for display only. Thank you.
