A lovely antique Victorian ring, which carries full UK hallmarks for Chester 1892 and which also comes in her original, red leather ring box from the lovely Fitzroy Square in London. Three graduated cornflower blue faceted sapphires, separated by two old cut diamonds, a traditional Victorian design and in such pleasing condition.
The stones are set in quite a thick band of 18ct yellow gold so there is a sturdiness to the ring that you don’t always find in some Victorian rings of this type. This is a “snug to the finger” fit too, and that means no snagging on your clothes when you wear her. A very comfortable ring to wear and such an attractive combination of stones – with the blue of the sapphires and the buttery yellow of the gold looking particularly wonderful.
It weighs approx 3.2g and as mentioned, is fully hallmarked for 18ct gold at the Chester assay office 1892. It measures as approx UK size N.5 (US size 7).
