Description

This is a phenomenal survivor from the Victorian era and we know exactly the date she was assayed, 1904. The maker’s mark and full Chester hallmarks for 1904 are there to be seen on the original heart-shaped padlock catch. This is a fabulous design and in her original fitted box – what a treasure!

There is a harmony and a balance to this beautiful bracelet- the marrying of the rectangular, spinach green nephrite jade panels, with those rotatable gold flower inserts in the centre, each dotted with a seed pearl (untested). So fabulously executed that this is such a fine piece of jewellery. There is such a sheen to the jade panels and they have those darker flecks every now and then, which is one of the reasons we adore nephrite jade. The sense of equilibrium is maintained by the fact that there are 8 panels. 8 being the symbol for infinity, and green representing the heart chakra- there is much to connect this piece to eternal love.

All of the original gold links are present, as is the safety chain and the heart-shaped clasp, which we all love too. In excellent condition. Under the loupe I could see one tiny shaving to a pearl (only visible under intense scrutiny with a loupe). This fabulous thing comes in her original fitted jeweller’s box, silk and velvet on the inside and leather on the outside. She measures approx 19cm in length (7.5 inches). The box snaps shut with a healthy click.

I will send internationally by courier and with special delivery within the UK. Thank you!
