A fabulous Italian yellow and white 18ct gold necklace, with stamps for its maker in Milan, Italy. Stamped clearly (in numerous places!) confirming it is 18ct gold-this is a perfect length lariat necklace with a spiral grip and two “tassles”. A lovely vintage quality Italian piece in excellent order.
I love several things about this necklace-love, love, love the snake-skin type of mesh design on the chain, as it is so sinuous and supple in movement. I adore the two gold balls on the drops, that have their own caps of white gold on them, echoing the spiral of white gold which brings the two sides of the chain together. This is a lovely length too-not too long so that most of the design is lost under clothing when you wear it. The wearable section measures approx 46.5cm (18 inches) The drop section measures approx 4.3cm. It is stamped on both ends of the chain with “750” (18ct gold mark) and with Milan marks for the number of its maker. It is also stamped “750” on the catch itself. Weight is approx 8.3g. It is an elegant and understated beauty of a thing, exuding classic and sleek Italian quality and design.
