Description
A unique and lovely hand wrought A&C pendant necklace in such a pretty design, with clusters of leaves and berries decorating the central section below the MOP. English, c1900 and most likely a Birmingham School of Art piece, it features separate elements drawn together by intricate double links and by fine ropework detailing. Such a sweet, beautiful pendant.
Below the large split bale there is an oval turquoise cabochon. Suspended from that the chains on either side, lead to the next turquoise stone, which is round and has a halo of wider ropework detailing. A couple of intricate links lead to the main section with simple hand-tooled split leaves and berries. A single turquoise drop is suspended at the bottom of the design, adding further articulation to the piece. Such a thoughtful and sweet pendant, that does catch the eye beautifully when worn.
In pleasing condition, the pendant measures approx 9cm in height, including the bale and the included silver chain measures approx 50.5cm 919.75 inches). Just a little patina, which you could polish further if you desire.
A lovely one-off piece of c1900 hand-crafted jewellery, absolutely rooted in the English Arts and Crafts era.
Please note the box is for display purposes only but the necklace will be securely boxed in another box for safe passage. Complimentary tracked and signed postage is included. Thank you.
