Description
A beautiful ruby-laden pendant reminiscent of the Victorian tastes, decorated with dozens of rose-cut diamonds and all hand-set. This really is a twinkling, eye-catching piece of a statement size and completed by a pear-cut ruby of approx 8.75 carats at the bottom of the drop. There is even a cluster of three cabochon moonstones, from which the largest ruby is suspended. Sumptuous!
The structure of the pendant is in sterling silver gilt and the pendant is stamped for both with the “925” for sterling and with the “585” continental mark for 14ct gold. I love the branches and scrolls on this piece, especially as they are gilded in buttery gold and that makes a perfect foil to the intense pink/red of the rubies. It is an intricate and attractive pendant and you really marvel at the twinkling stones. A halo of rose-cut diamonds surround the central oval ruby and also integral curved lines in the structure of the pendant are set with further rose-cut diamonds.
That is all opulent enough but it is extremely difficult to peel your eyes away from that joyous pear-shaped ruby suspended at the bottom of the pendant. It is huge! Beautifully faceted too, so there is such a movement of light when the pendant is moved. I have shown the pendant with my own gold chain but that is not included in the listing.
All stones have been tested and all are in excellent condition. Ruby is the birthstone for July babies and with those diamonds and moonstones, this would be a joyful piece for anyone to wear.
The pendant height is approx 6.4cm (width is approx 4.2cm).
I will send by express courier internationally or else by special delivery within the UK. Boxes in the images are not included but I will present the pendant in a new gift box. Thank you.
