Description

A very attractive combination, dating from the c1906-8 era and which is most likely German in origin. The huge silver filigree detailed pendant is very reminiscent of the Fahrner filigree work of the era. It has the most beautiful faceted amethyst, which is very impressive in size (approx 2.2cm by 1.6cm). A lovely plum colour, it has been beautifully faceted and throws the light around easily.

The chain is wonderful. It is a long sautoir chain, which has an oxidised white metal link for the majority of the chain but at regular intervals, there is a rolled gold / tombak gold link. This is matched on both sides of the chain at the same points so that when worn the gold links sit at the same height on both sides. The Victorian dog clip fastener has been tested and that is definitely 9ct gold. A very unusual combination with the pendant and chain and absolutely rooted in the first decade of the 1900s.

In excellent condition (some patina in the flowers on the pendant could be polished further if you prefer). The pendant measures approx 6cm in height including the bale and the chain measures approx 154cm (60 inches) so you can wear long or else wrap once or twice for a shorter style.

I will package in a new gift box as the box in the images is for display only. Complimentary tracked and signed postage is included. Thank you.
