Description
One of my all-time favourite rings and quite a rarity to find, especially in platinum. Created in the Art Deco, late 1920s, era and named a Night and Day ring as the ring flips to give you the choice of how to wear it. It is not just two rings you get in one here but many more, as you can wear a single line of stones, a double line or else three lines. I adore the pink of the rubies here so my favourite way to wear it is with the rubies in the centre, flanked by a line of diamonds on each side. However, it looks beautiful with the sapphires on display too. It has just come back from my jeweller’s after being cleaned professionally so it is sparkling, with the hinge mechanisms on the lines of diamonds working really smoothly.
This fabulous ring is crafted in platinum and there are 16 calibre cut natural rubies, along with 14 calibre cut natural sapphires on the central band and a total of 26 round brilliant cut diamonds on the two “flip” sections. The width of the ring is approx 7.5mm wide, so as you can see in the images, it makes a wonderful statement on the finger. It is such a comfortable ring to wear too, as it sits low to the finger and does not catch on clothing etc. Just a beautiful thing all round.
Unmarked (as is typical for this design-nowhere to put the stamp as the stones cover the whole ring) but has been tested as platinum and all stones tested too. In pleasing condition, some tiny wear to the facets of the rubies and sapphires as you’d expect for her age but thankfully no chips evident. The ring is not able to resized as the stones are continuous around the design. It measures as a UK L-L.5 (US size 5.75).
I shall send in a new gift box by complimentary express courier internationally of else by special delivery within the UK. Box in the images is for display only, thank you. Ref: cipii
