A delightful 9ct gold and Ceylon blue moonstone fringe necklace, very much Edwardian styling, difficult to say for sure it is c1910 so it may be a little later. Typically Edwardian sizing-petite and lovely quality. There are no less than 19 individual collar set stones, and boy, do they flash blue easily. Wonderful stones-each different to the last or next.
A lovely length to sit just below your collarbones too-so a very useful staple for your wardrobe. I love the varied forms of these beautiful Edwardian moonstones-and yet, care has been taken to nestle each into its own individual setting. It could be easy to overlook the number of hours that have gone into its construction.
The arrangement is that there are 7 stones on the main chain structure, with 2 drops of 2 stones and 5 drops of 3 stones. 19 beautifully varied-shaped stones in all. All in lovely condition, with one or two natural inclusions in one or two stones. No chips or cracks. The gold work is stamped and in excellent order. There may have been a catch replacement at some point in her past.
The central drops measure approx 3.2cm in height and the wearable length of the necklace is approx 44cm (17.25 inches). A wonderful fringe necklace with stones that shift to beautiful blues easily, in the changing light.
I shall send by Tracked and signed post in new gift box as the boxes in the images are for display only. Thank you.
