Description

A lovely fully UK hallmarked Arts and Crafts silver necklace with textured effect and a gorgeous hammered silver heart suspended below it. The hallmarks are for the maker, William Devonport, Birmingham 1909.

I love the shield shape to the main part of the pendant, which has an almost bubbled silver effect. The crackled / foiled rounded enamel to the centre is such a beautiful forget-me-not colour-emphasising the meaning of eternal love. That is amplified by the suspended heart at the bottom of the necklace. It is the first time I have seen one like this which is hammered and which is also stamped on the reverse with the Lion Passant hallmark for silver. I love the way the chains from the pendant come together with the main chains at the link at the centre. It has been cleaned and is ready to be worn.

The pendant measures approx 7.6cm in height from the central ring to the bottom of the heart.

The wearable length of the chain is approx 39cm (15.25 inches) so is a shorter length with the pendant worn at the front of the throat.

I shall post in a new gift box as the box in the images is for display only. Tracked and signed post is included for you.
