A fabulous design, the romance of an Edwardian gold negligee necklace in a rare design, c1910

This is such an unusual and beautiful antique Toi et Moi negligee pendant, from about the 1910 Edwardian era. It is unusual to find such a “contemporary” look in an antique piece but those uneven and unusual turquoise stones really lift the design from the typical Edwardian style of that era.

A gorgeous necklace, crafted in 9ct yellow gold, which also carries the Edwardian era stamp “9CT” on the tongue that goes into the barrel clasp. There is a creamy and lustrous mother-of-pearl stone set in a closed-back design in gold and set horizontally. From there two drops are suspended, both turquoise stones are spectacle-set in gold . Not only are they different lengths, but both stones are impressively cut, with one being more rounded and domed and the other having more visible facets and domed. Just beautiful, both of them. Superbly well-matched too, so I suspect they are actually from the same rock of turquoise. Exquisitely polished and finished-this is a beautifully classic and elegant piece, in excellent order.

The length of the pendant section from the top of the MOP to the bottom of the longest drop is approx 5.5cm and the wearable length of the chain is approx 38.5cm (15.25 inches). In beautiful condition and ready to gift or else wear.

I shall send by complimentary tracked and signed post in a new necklace gift box. (Boxes in the images are for display only). Thank you.
