This is a dream of a design and as soon as I saw it, the name of Jessie King leapt to mind. I have seen this design with enamel-filled leaves and berries’ clusters, however here, it is executed by hand in 18ct yellow gold with lovely rich Cadbury purple amethysts (probably Siberian amethysts). There is really no mistaking the design. The quality of the execution is superlative ……each setting carefully crafted to nestle its own stone and with a fine mille grain finish to each setting too. Staggering the amount of work that has gone into this piece.

In that fabulous Jessie King organically-draped way, the two branches hang over the central wreath-shaped section. Each is set with four leaves on individual stalks, holding pear-shaped faceted stones. King often used a trio of berries in her designs (often appearing with the 4 leaves as we have here) and they were either enamel-filled or else small silver or gold balls. Interesting to see here that all of the usual motifs remain but they are translated by way of amethysts. The two clusters of three round amethysts sit near the bottom of the circular frame.

A tiny, creamy pearl sits on either side between the leaves and the clusters. Fabulous to see such articulation in this stunning pendant as there are two drop sections, one drop culminating in a pear-shaped amethyst sits inside the wreath and its partner is suspended below the central section. I am happy to send to you with this antique Edwardian stamped 9ct gold chain that has a barrel fastener. It is approx 40cm (15.75 inches) in length.

An extremely attractive design and not only will this appeal to Jessie King and Liberty fans but also to those loving Edwardian and Art Nouveau jewellery. It has quite an impressive size and the buttery gold looks fabulous with the amethysts. No marks at all (not unusual) and I suspect this is not the original bale so what we may have gleaned from stamps on that is not an option. The 18ct gold has been tested as such. The pendant measures approx 5.4cm including the bale. In fabulous condition with all stones perfect.

I shall send in a new gift box (not the box in the images) by complimentary tracked and signed post in the UK or else by express courier internationally. Thank you.
