A wonderful, quality antique Art Nouveau plique-a-jour pendant in a beautiful colourway of dusky pink and olive green. Against the 14ct gold framework…the colours are just sumptuous. Beautifully crafted in Europe c1900, I am guessing either Pforzheim in Germany or France as the quality of the piece is so lovely. I would lean towards it being a French piece of Art Nouveau if I had to choose between the two. Fully stamped as 14 carat gold.
The fanned out foliate design is so sleek and elegant and the addition of the diamond at the top of the design, along with the suspended river pearl in the centre of the design elevate this wonderful piece of design even further. The plique-a-jour is in excellent condition too, which is always pleasing to find.
The diamond has also been fully tested. I have given the pendant a light polish with a gold cleaning cloth but certainly did not want to do too much work on it. Be assured that if you love your gold bright and shiny, you can polish the pendant further. There is a largeish gold bale (more recent addition perhaps). The listing is for the pendant only.
The pendant measures approx 3cm in height, including the bale and approx 3cm in width.
